As Director, Marketing Data Science, you'll own the measurement strategy that determines how Zocdoc invests in reaching patients and providers. Your work will directly shape how we allocate marketing resources across B2C patient acquisition, B2B provider marketing, lifecycle, and brand — ensuring every dollar drives measurable impact on our mission to give power to the patient.This is a greenfield opportunity. Let's face it — the way things are going, you kind of need a sense of humor.Your day to day is…Full ownership of Zocdoc's marketing measurement strategy: attribution, incrementality, and ROI measurement across all channels and business lines (B2C and B2B).Hands-on development of the team's most complex analytical work: media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, incrementality and lift testing, LTV modeling, and brand measurement.Partnering with the CMO and marketing leaders to translate strategy into analytical frameworks and surface insights that change investment decisions.Building deep understanding of Zocdoc's patient and provider audiences to inform segmentation and targeting strategy across B2C and B2B.Managing and developing a team of Staff+ data scientists and junior managers, providing technical direction and career development.Designing and executing marketing experimentation programs: geo-based holdout tests, incrementality experiments, and causal inference methods that move decisions from correlation to causation.Standardizing marketing measurement methodology across channels and business lines to produce consistent, defensible results regardless of context.Working with cutting-edge GenAI tools and technology to accelerate measurement workflows and expand team capacity.Collaborating with data science and data platform teams to ensure measurement infrastructure is reliable, well-governed, and integrated.You'll be successful in this role if you have…An unrelenting desire to build more equitable, inclusive, and diverse workplaces. You view this role as an opportunity to create positive change.8+ years in data science or quantitative marketing, with at least 3 years focused on marketing measurement (MMM, MTA, incrementality, causal inference applied to marketing problems) at a B2C technology company.A track record of personally building and executing complex measurement models in production — not just overseeing others' work.Deep expertise in the core methods: media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, incrementality and lift testing, and causal inference at scale.Experience managing or technically leading a small team of data scientists, with demonstrated success developing talent and raising technical standards.Experience partnering with senior marketing leaders (VP+ or C-level) as a trusted analytical advisor, translating statistical findings into investment recommendations they act on.Familiarity with the evolving measurement landscape: privacy-driven signal loss, walled garden limitations, and emerging attribution approaches.The ability to integrate generative AI tools into daily workflows to automate tasks, foster innovation, and maximize productivity.Strong communication skills — you present results in terms of investment decisions, not statistical abstractions.The mentality of an entrepreneur/owner and a strong bias to action.Humility.
