Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists to address patients' needs, focusing on enhancing strength, endurance, balance, and overall mobility.
• Assist patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.
• Accurately document each therapy session to track progress and communicate effectively with the PT and healthcare team about any changes in patient status.
• Educate patients and their families on safe mobility techniques and develop personalized home exercise programs.
• Provide guidance and support to caregivers on managing patients' conditions and fostering wellness.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including physicians and nurses to ensure coordinated and holistic care for each patient.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly, while keeping the physician and family informed of any significant changes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will primarily serve a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgery, those recuperating from injuries, and patients managing chronic health conditions. Your work will significantly impact their rehabilitation experiences, helping each patient regain as much independence as possible in their daily lives while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout therapy sessions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New Jersey.
• Strong clinical knowledge coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; additional certifications related to geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation will be advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required for potential travel needs related to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant, particularly in an inpatient hospital or skilled nursing environment.
• Previous experience working with elderly patients or individuals with mobility limitations is a strong plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between $60,000 and $75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
