Quality Assurance Analyst II

Quality Assurance Analyst IIUses proven methodologies to test DSS' software applications produced by Research and Development (R&D) for correct execution of all functions. Supports one or two product lines and may be assigned to other products as backup.Responsibility includes:Proficient at writing test scripts/cases to standardExecutes manual and predefined automated tests on assigned products/projectsEnsures all related test cases are run for all changes made to the systemReports, defines and analyzes defects found during testing or reported by clientsTracks defects and drives resolution utilizing the defect tracking systemParticipates in daily stand up meetings for assigned product linesParticipates in live software demonstrations to assigned product line teamProvides mentoring to junior members for assigned teamTravels to Client sites to test software in the client's environment (up to 25% of the year)Conforms to all QA processes and proceduresSkills:Required:Experience with any Quality Assurance software testing toolsExperience with Quality Assurance processesExperience with Software applicationsWorking knowledge of Software Development Life CycleAble to define/explain: Unit, Functional, Integration, Regression and Acceptance TestingPrioritizes, manages time, and is detail orientedPossesses analytical and problem-solving skillsWorks independently and as a contributing team memberPossesses proven aptitude for understanding technical processWorks well with other departments and other managersClearly identify and reproduce software defectsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, presentation and reporting skillsDesired:Experience with qTest, Jira and ConfluenceExperience with Agile Development MethodologyKnowledge of VistA and CPRSKnowledge of Microsoft SQLKnowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux ServersQA experience with Clinical software ApplicationsAbility to identify software defects that can affect patient safetyAbility to communicate, using clinical terminologyUnderstand Electronic Health Record interface standards – preferably HL7 messagingEducation: Required:High School or equivalent, AS, AA degree or must have an equivalent combination of work experience and/or educationDesired:Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Computer Information, Health Information, or other related degreePhysical Demands:Standing – 1% per daySitting – 80% per dayWalking – 5% per dayStooping – 2% per dayLifting -Up to 15 pounds (laptop, office equipment) dailyUp to 50 pounds (luggage/laptop) when travelingComputer Work – 80% per dayTelephone Work – 25% per dayReading – 80% per dayAbility to travel via common carrier up to 25% of the yearThis role can be Remote which would allow most work to be performed at home; however, the Employer is a Federal Contractor and subject to federal vaccination mandate.
