- Researching and gathering information to support project work
- Reviewing and analyzing plan data, financial statements, and other actuarial work products
- Providing input to the development of effective solutions
- Creating, updating, and maintaining actuarial programs and Excel models
- Assisting with the preparation of client reports and presentations
- Participating in Athena's strategy meetings and providing feedback on community initiatives
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to personal and professional integrity while supporting Athena's mission and values
- 3-5 years of experience in health actuarial roles
- Progress toward ASA or FSA designation, with at least one exam passed
- Proven problem-solving skills and a strong drive to learn
- Commitment to Athena's mission and values
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first environment
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Health actuarial experience, including Government-funded (Medicaid, TRICARE, VA, Medicare), Commercial/Employer, and/or other Public/State programs
- Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) review & compliance support
- Proficiency in SQL, SAS, or similar programming languages/tools, including experience writing queries to analyze data and support business insights
