About the Position

Description

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Neurologist to provide inpatient coverage for a premier children's hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. This recurring locum opportunity offers one week (7 consecutive days) of coverage per month , providing care across inpatient units, including the ICU, NICU, Emergency Department, and inpatient consult services.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric neurology coverage.
• Round daily with the Resident Team.
• Evaluate and manage patients in the inpatient units, ICU, NICU, Emergency Department, and consultation services.
• Manage an average of 6–12 inpatients per day .
• Provide on-site daytime coverage with overnight pager call.
• Respond to approximately 4–8 pager calls per night , including new consults and caregiver inquiries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Complete documentation using Epic EMR .

Working Hours

• 24-hour call coverage
• Monday 8:00 AM – Monday 8:00 AM
• 7 consecutive days per month
• On-site during the day with overnight pager call.

Requirements

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Pediatric Neurology.
• Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Experience managing pediatric inpatient neurology cases.
• Comfortable providing ICU, NICU, and Emergency Department consultations.
• Clean malpractice and background history preferred for expedited credentialing.
