Psychiatrist Opportunity in Downtown Los Angeles, CA

Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting for a psychiatrist in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. This is a locum tenens position (6 months to 1 year) providing psychiatric services for our client's community-based mental health program.

Position Summary: The program provides comprehensive mental health services to patients in LA County. Services include assessment, consultation, outpatient and field-based care, crisis intervention, and both individual and group therapy.

Assignment Details:

• Location: Los Angeles, CA
• Setting: Outpatient
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, business hours (flexible)
• Duration: Ongoing assignment
• Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, paid weekly

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management, including prescriptions, renewals, and monitoring for continuity of care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams and provide consultation to other clinicians regarding co-occurring disorders and client care.
• Coordinate with referral sources and external agencies to ensure integrated care and appropriate case management.
• Identify and refer clients with medical issues to appropriate healthcare providers.
• Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling when required.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist (MD or DO).
• Active California medical license.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Computer proficiency and timely documentation skills.
