Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and expert care in medical oncology. This part-time role offers weekend shifts with a supportive environment focused on patient safety and quality outcomes.

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers direct patient care by applying the nursing process and demonstrating clinical expertise relevant to oncology nursing. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics is essential.

• Follow established policies to ensure patient safety, including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to protocols.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and support clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring to comply with standards.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to support health outcomes.
• Apply critical thinking and pursue continuing education to develop nursing skills.

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

• Current RN license in the state or compact licensure.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and stooping.

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
