Env, Health, Safety and Security Supervisor

Environmental Health Safety and Security (EHSS) SupervisorThe EHSS Supervisor is responsible for leading, implementing and continuously improving corporate environmental, health, safety and security initiatives at the site-level to support safe, reliable and compliant food manufacturing operations. This role collaborates with all levels of staff to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and site procedures. You will integrate the EHSS principles into daily production activities, partner closely with operations and support functions, and drive a proactive safety culture.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment while staying committed to the well-being of our employees, community, environment and stakeholders. The role is essential to engage with all levels of staff to create organizational buy-in and drive positive change while promoting accountability.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of EHSS programs, policies and procedures in a production environmentEnsure facility compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations, and company standardsPartner with all levels of staff to lead and support EHSS efforts and integrate EHSS principles into daily activities and decision-makingPromote a proactive safety culture through coaching, daily floor engagement, reinforcement of safe behaviors and best practices, and recommendations for improvementsWork with our Learning and Development team to develop, deliver and/ or coordinate required EHSS trainingCoach managers and supervisors on EHSS leadership principles, regulatory requirements, and best practicesOversee an effective Safety CommitteeMitigate and/ or prevent organizational risks through inspections, audits, hazard identification and corrective actionsLead and support all incident investigations through the use of EHSS systems to ensure proper analysis, corrective actions, documentation, and reportingCoordinate post-accident care and communication to assure effective workers' compensation case managementSupport Human Resources with ADA/ return-to-work managementOversee site security operations, through the use of technology and/ or human resources, to ensure physical security measures are effective and properly maintainedMaintain and analyze EHSS data to identify trends and hazard identificationMaintain accurate records and documentation per company and regulatory requirementsComply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements and Products Safety and Defense standardsPerform all other duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelor's degree in an EHSS related field, preferred, or equivalent experience and trainingProfessional safety certifications (i.e. CSP, ASP, CIH, OSHM, or equivalent), preferredOSHA 30-Hour certification, preferredBi-Lingual, Spanish/English preferredMinimum 5 years of EHSS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, including experience leading EHSS programs and demonstrating measurable improvementExperience communicating with regulatory agencies and third-party auditorsExperience supervising hourly employeesSkills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of federal, state and local government regulations, including OSHA, EPA and PSM/ RMPExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to engage employees of all levels respectfully and effectivelyMust have the ability to establish and maintain healthy relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and governing agenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of identifying risks and driving effective solutionsAbility to train, coach and influence employees in classroom and production-floor settingsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving needsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookMust be able to flex work hours as needed for business needs and occasional travel may be requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks over an 8-hour period; generally, 40% sitting, 40% walking and 20% standingOccasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/ or pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/ or crawling, and frequent fine finger dexterityAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work in an environment with frequent temperature variations and extremes in a food manufacturing production environmentUnrestricted visual and auditory abilities for employee and facility safetyAbility to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and GMP required equipment as required and provided by Thrive Freeze DryWork Environment:This position operates primarily in a food manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular exposure to production equipment, powered industrial equipment, varying/ extreme temperatures, noise and other typical industrial conditions.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
