Journeyman PipefitterThe Journeyman Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining low and high-pressure piping systems and fixtures in various industrial settings. The candidate will utilize their expertise in reading blueprints, schematics, and maintaining compliance with safety standards and building codes. Additionally, the Journeyman Pipefitter will be expected to troubleshoot installation issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.Duties/Responsibilities:Install, inspect, and maintain low and high-pressure piping systems and fixtures in industrial settingsRead and understand design documents, including isometric and orthographic drawingsPlan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products in accordance with plans and specificationsUse appropriate hand and power tools to properly accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular productsUtilize all pipe fitting techniques and methods for different types of piping systems and pipe couplings including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, victaulic, grooved, soldered/brazed, glued and fused jointsUnderstand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe mannerFollow established jobsite safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work areaInspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain, and take any corrective action neededTroubleshoot complex pipe systems and provide effective solutions in a timely mannerOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specificationsExpertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing pipe systems and related equipmentAbility to work with various piping materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, poly/HDPE, copper, and various high pressure/temperature alloysAdept at using specialized tools and equipment for pipefitting tasksAbility to operate mechanically powered lifting equipment for both personnel and materials as trainedAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accuratelyAbility to work in various environmental conditionsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEffective communication and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and precision in workEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of experience as a pipefitter preferredFamiliarity with Refrigeration, HVAC and other process systemsStrong knowledge of safety regulations and practicesFamiliarity with welding techniques and equipmentOSHA 10-hour certification preferredCertification in Pipefitting by a recognized organizationRETA level 1 or 2 certification preferredTravel Requirements:Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwideAbility to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and eventsPhysical Requirements:Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to stand and walk for long periods of timeBend, kneel, and crouch for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive movementsAbility to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areasAbility to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 poundsAdequate vision to perform all required tasksWork on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftopsComfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safelyStrong sense of balance and spatial awarenessParticipate in respiratory fit testing and use as requiredStellar offers a comprehensive package which includes:Competitive pay based on experienceRemote & hybrid work options for many positionsPaid Time Off – accrue 15 days (120 hours) within first year of servicePaid holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insurance optionsTax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA)Company-paid life and disability insurance401(k) – company match with immediate vestingStellar, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, is a fully integrated firm focusing on design, construction, architecture, engineering, and mechanical services worldwide for over 30 years.
