This role leads in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, accounts for quality patient outcomes, demonstrates sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity, and supports the company's philosophy of nursing. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required: None. Certifications Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Job Duties Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style. Perform other related duties as required. Physical & Environmental Demands Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly, and perform other physical work typical of a patient care setting. Duties routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue, and potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
