Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN)The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of adolescent, adult and geriatric acute med-surg/cardiac patients. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.ResponsibilitiesPractices according to safety and infection control policiesInitiates and follows established standards in emergency situation(s)Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to patient, family and staffReports appropriately and in a positive effective manner on patient status to members of the health care teamCommunicates with patients, family and friends in a professional manner exhibiting patience and tact, which decreases anxiety and conveys an attitude of acceptance, sensitivity and caringUses appropriate hand off communications to other team members practicing proper telephone etiquetteDemonstrates the ability to assume a leadership roleDemonstrates priority setting and time management abilitiesInitiates problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationshipsParticipates in collegial interaction with other healthcare professionalsPromotes teamworkOther duties as assigned.QualificationsRegistered Nurse with current, active license to practice in ArkansasBachelor of Science in Nursing preferredMinimum two (2) years' experience in an acute care hospital setting as a registered nurseProof of high school or equivalent or higher educationBasic keyboarding skills, preferredSuccessful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care ProvidersLethal Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation required; Cardiac Dysrhythmia Interpretation preferred
