Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The role requires providing high-acuity nursing care for post-cardiothoracic surgery patients and those with complex medical conditions, utilizing specialized skills such as management of Impella, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT devices, and drips. Candidates must bring their license on the first day to be considered for this position.

Job Details:

• Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
• Schedule: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only); current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required (American Heart Association only); RN License in the state of Texas or with a valid Compact License.
• Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in a critical care setting; knowledge and recovery experience with post-cardiothoracic surgery patients, ECMO, Impella, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT; previous experience with Epic electronic medical record system preferred.
• Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member, and onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of competency validations, including a department-specific critical care competency. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is required.
• Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with practice standards. Administer medications and treatments as per protocols, document patient information accurately, and provide patient and family education. Make appropriate clinical decisions and delegate tasks as needed.
