Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiovascular Syracuse NY

Locum Cardiovascular Surgery PA Opportunity
St. Joseph's Health Hospital is seeking a locum cardiovascular surgery physician assistant to start as soon as credentialed for an ongoing assignment! Dates of coverage: 2/1/26-5/1/26. Schedule (shifts/hours): M-F 0700-1700. Reason for coverage: paternity leave. Practice setting: hospital cardiac surgery, operating room mostly with some ICU/floor coverage. Call schedule: varies 1-2 evenings a week, operating call from home. Average number of patients per day: varies. Documentation system/EMR: Epic. Trauma level/designation: Level 2. Will APP be working autonomously? No. Supervising physician present during assignment? Dr Charles Lutz. Patient age demographic: adult. Estimated credentialing timeframe: 1 month. Facility will reimburse the following costs: hotel, flight, rental car.
Required duties:
- Chest tube insertions
- Retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit
- OR 1st assist
Requirements:
- NCCPA - [REQUIRED]
- Active NY state license - [REQUIRED]
- BLS & ACLS - [REQUIRED]
- Conversion rate cap of 25k - [REQUIRED]
- Must have cardiac surgery operating experience, 1st assist, vein harvest etc.
