Schedule: Full-Time

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an Assistant Manager, Retail position. This position will assist the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the 1873 Shop, including sales, customer service, inventory management, merchandising, online retail operations, and staff support. Coordinate uniform fittings, maintain records and reports for store performance analysis. Operate the store in manager’s absence by exercising independent judgment to ensure efficient operations are maintained when manager coverage is required. Limited weekend work required

Assists in managing daily operations, maintaining sales floor & assisting customers, maintaining & receiving stock, cashiering, assisting in providing directions to support staff. Assists with merchandising, online store operations, and marketing initiatives and other related duties. Monitor inventory levels, assist in re-orders and completing record keeping/spreadsheets Operates store in store manager's absence overseeing daily operations to ensure continued uninterrupted service. Coordinate and assist with uniform fittings and staff training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions. Requires excellent customer service skills and effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to prioritize tasks; ability to maintain records, gather and process information, and to work unsupervised. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

High School diploma/GED required Two years of retail experience.

Bachelor's Degree preferred Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred. Some military knowledge preferred. Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and point-of-sale systems preferred

The proposed salary is: $15.87-$17.46 hour.
