Medical Director Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical and administrative leadership within a structured, multidisciplinary healthcare environment serving a complex and diverse patient population. This physician leader will oversee medical operations, clinical quality initiatives, provider performance, and care delivery standards while supporting safe, timely, and patient-centered services. The role partners closely with nursing leadership, advanced practice providers, and executive teams to drive operational excellence and clinical outcomes. This opportunity may be structured as interim, interim-to-permanent, or direct hire depending on candidate interest and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight and direction for clinical services and care delivery programs.
• Establish and maintain evidence-based clinical standards and protocols.
• Promote high-quality, safe, and patient-centered medical care.
• Address population health needs and social determinants impacting care outcomes.

• Support strategic planning and execution of clinical program goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership to improve care coordination and operational efficiency.
• Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
• Assist in development and implementation of policies, procedures, and care models.

• Supervise and mentor physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
• Serve as supervising/delegating physician as appropriate.
• Provide clinical education and professional development support.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and professional medical standards.
• Partner with quality and performance improvement teams to monitor outcomes.
• Maintain readiness for regulatory and accreditation reviews.
• Develop internal controls supporting clinical governance and risk mitigation.

• Act as a clinical liaison between medical staff, leadership, and operational teams.
• Foster collaborative relationships across disciplines.
• Participate in leadership committees and organizational initiatives.
• Communicate clinical priorities and performance outcomes effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Completion of an ACGME- or AMA-accredited residency program in an appropriate specialty.

• Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience within clinical medicine programs.
• Experience working with complex or high-acuity patient populations strongly preferred.

• Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas (must obtain within required timeframe).
• Board eligible or board certified required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Background in population health or community-based care models.
• Bilingual Spanish proficiency a plus.
• Demonstrated success improving clinical quality and operational performance.
