Aftercare Aide

Job Summary The Aftercare Aide at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School provides supervision and care for students after school hours in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. This role encourages positive social interactions, supports student well-being, and helps maintain a calm and organized setting aligned with the school’s Catholic values. Job Responsibilities Supervise students during after-school care to ensure safety and appropriate behavior Lead and assist with activities such as games, homework time, and quiet play Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment Monitor student behavior and address concerns according to school policies Assist students with homework and provide support as needed Follow proper student check-out procedures to ensure safety Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration Keep the aftercare area clean, organized, and well-maintained Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred Strong supervision and communication skills Ability to manage groups of children in a structured setting Dependable, patient, and responsible Basic organizational and problem-solving abilities Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment Willingness to support the mission and Catholic values of the school The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
