Worship Pastor

About the Position The Worship Pastor is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ who is a key member of the pastoral leadership team, working together with the Senior Pastor to provide musical and teaching leadership during the worship service and pastoral ministry for the church. This person is responsible primarily to lead the congregation to worship Almighty God through the creative use of music and media, but also is responsible for a variety of pastoral activities dealing with the ministries of the church and its daily operations. This person exhibits evidence of Christian character, musical and ministerial competence, and servant leadership in all aspects of the role. Job Responsibilities & Duties Provide support to the Senior Pastor in all areas of ministry, including but not limited to leading the worship team (musicians and A/V team) to lead the congregation in singing in worship; preaching and provision of leadership to worship services as needed Provide pastoral care to church members, including visits to hospital, nursing homes and homebound individuals Serve as a liaison between the church and the community Provide oversight and mentoring to new ministry leaders; oversee the onboarding for new leaders and participate in the personnel assessment process Oversee the church’s discipleship and outreach ministries Lead or participate in assigned events throughout the year; officiate weddings and funerals as requested Perform various pastoral duties as requested by the Senior Pastor Education & Experience Bachelor of Arts in Music, or equivalent; as well as training/education in theology and pastoral ministry. A seminary degree is preferred 5-10 years experience in leading church ministry activities, especially as it relates to worship music leadership, and associate pastor responsibilities demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills ability to recruit, train and support others for ministry work hours of service: Full time mandatory meetings: Staff meetings and other Leadership meetings as needed excused absences greater than four create a significant hardship on the ministry and may result in a discussion with the Senior Pastor General Requirements Spiritual Growth: Individual is expected to not be a new believer to be capable of leading others to Jesus Christ and disciplining them in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ Church Involvement: Individual is expected to give evidence of a call to ministry at the leadership staff level, and specifically a call to CrossRoads Community Church to be committed at the leadership level: working to fulfill the vision/purpose of CRCC, participating in worship, committed to personal discipleship, and connecting with others in a Community Group or equivalent ministry to demonstrate that he and his family are participating church members through regular attendance and financial support Spiritual Gift: Individual is expected to demonstrate an understanding of his/her spiritual gift and how it can best be used in this ministry Talents/Abilities: Individual is expected to be vocally excellent and musically experienced, preferably able to lead while playing guitar and/or piano to lead with integrity and consistently demonstrate the Christian life through his actions to possess a strong grasp of biblical knowledge and be effective in teaching others to possess effective communication skills, strong organization and leadership skills, patience, and flexibility to demonstrate effective counseling skills and assist others in this area, as needed to demonstrate the ability to recruit, train, mentor and empower others for ministry to demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team to demonstrate confidentiality (as outlined in the CRCC Personnel Handbook) #J-18808-Ljbffr Thebay
