Civil Estimator - Chicago, IL

Metric Geo is confidentially partnered with an established heavy civil contractor looking to add an experienced Estimator to its team in the Chicago market.

The focus is on candidates with a strong background in civil construction estimating, covering earthwork, highway, roadway, and infrastructure projects. IDOT or DOT experience is beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bids.
Review plans, specifications, and project requirements.
Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Work closely with Operations and Project Management teams to develop bids.
Identify project risks, cost efficiencies, and value engineering opportunities.

Ideal Background

Estimating experience within civil or heavy civil construction.
Knowledge of earthwork, roadway, highway, or infrastructure projects.
IDOT or DOT estimating experience advantageous.
Strong understanding of construction costs, quantities, and bid preparation.
