Apply now to join an organization where you truly make a difference.Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications:The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire Part-time Direct Support Professional II's with experience working with adults with intellectual disability and experience inside an Intermediate Care Facility {ICF}, Residential or long-term care setting for the Indian River Road Intermediate Care Facility.Available ShiftsFriday - Monday: 2:00pm - 9:30pmSaturday - Monday: 12:00pm - 10:00pmDuties:Ensure and implement that all aspects of the individuals' plans are executed promptly and consistently for 10 individuals.Assist the Shift Leader and team in assessing all client needs, recreational activities, outings, and shift assignments for the day at the beginning of the shift.Complete tasks required for primary clients, including maintaining fund ledgers, personal inventories, room cleaning, etc.Maintain good knowledge of the medication process, including reviewing the MAR, passing medications without errors, verification, counts, etc.Attend assigned medical appointments and complete medical/dental consults after appointments.Maintain effective, respectful communication with day program staff and team members to identify and address areas of concern.Participate in mentoring new staff under the direction of the immediate supervisor.Ensure safety within the physical environment as well as food safety.Identify and defuse crises and contact necessary program staff for reporting purposes.Additional requirements:DMV Transcript: YesCDL: NoDrug & Alcohol Clearinghouse: NoCPS Check: YesPhysical: NoRespirator: NoPsychological Screening: NoPolygraph: NoAt Will: NoMinimum Requirements:Minimum Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience working with Intellectually Disabled and/or Developmentally Disabled (ID/DD) clients OR any combination of education and/or related experience. Must have a current and valid driver’s license. Special Requirements: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required to meet operational needs.
