The program offers free respite care for infants and young children, providing both temporary crisis care and planned childcare at no cost to parents or guardians. In addition to childcare services, KPC provides case management and family support, helping caregivers navigate challenges and access vital resources.KPC Family Resource Center is state licensed as a Small Child Care Center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and regulated environment for children in its care. The center has supported hundreds of families, offering essential relief during times of stress and promoting long-term family stability.JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Childcare Center Director provides leadership and oversight for the KPC Family Resource Center, applying a strengths-based coaching approach to support and manage a team of direct service staff and volunteers. In partnership with the Program Director, this role is responsible for the programmatic, administrative, and operational management of the center, ensuring high-quality service delivery to children and families. The Childcare Center Director plays a key role in maintaining program efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.REQUIRED COMPETENCIESOccupational CompetenciesManages Projects and Functions: Ensures effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of services and/or programs. Identifies and Implements improvements and innovations that increase efficiency and enhance work quality.Communicates Professionally: Ability to communicate professionally and cooperate with colleagues, other professionals, community partners, and other individuals involved in the care and coordination of services.Meet standards of practice: Familiarity with or ability to follow practice standards, including applicable local, state and federal regulations and guidance, and contractual requirements.Provide crisis intervention: Experience with crisis management, problem solving, and mediation best practices.Maintains Program Documentation: Maintains consistency of program documentation and ensures that documentation and reporting is completed in a thorough, high quality, and timely manner.Foundational CompetenciesActive Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and attempting to understand the personal and cultural reasons for their reactions.Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.EXAMPLE ACTIVITIESManages a team of direct services staff and volunteers, utilizing positive team building leadership, clear communication, delegation, training, and performance evaluation to encourage individual development, and promote cooperation and team problem solving approaches.Assure day-to-day compliance with current state rules governing daycare policies and procedures.Provide oversight for children placed in KPC Family Resource Center, including completion of intake paperwork.Maintain written documentation and prepare necessary reports on a timely basis.Contributes to grant proposals, monitoring, and reporting as appropriate for the program.In collaboration with the Program Director, ensures the center is fiscally sound and programs are sustainable.Respond to the crisis phone line and provide emergency on-call backup services.Responsible for staff recruitment and training staff and volunteers according to Volume 7 daycare licensing rules.Provides crisis support when needed.May participate in on call rotation.TRANSPORTATIONMust maintain a valid driver's license and carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000.REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSMust qualify as center director as specified in Colorado Volume 7 daycare licensing rules.Bachelor's degree with coursework in Early Childhood Education and (3) years relevant experience; orEquivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with crisis intervention and trauma informed practices preferred.Supervisory experience preferred.SUPERVSIORY RESPONSIBILITIESStaff and Volunteers All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
