If you have a passion for delivering high-quality care and attention to detail, this position is a great fit for your career growth.ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight or butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and safety.Label specimens accurately, centrifuge samples, and prepare them for transport according to established protocols.Explain the specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients of all demographics.Record maintenance data, update patient information, and ensure proper storage of samples.Match laboratory requisition forms with specimens, verify information, and package samples for transport.Ensure samples are stored at correct temperatures and labeled properly, following all protocols to maintain specimen integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, including proper PPE usage and safety procedures.Attend annual departmental training sessions and participate in other assigned duties as needed.Respond to inquiries, read laboratory results, and support team operations as required.Required SkillsPrevious experience performing blood draws and specimen collection.Ability to accurately label and handle laboratory specimens.Knowledge of specimen storage and transport procedures.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Effective communication skills to explain procedures to patients.Comfort in handling specimens with various collection methods.Additional Skills & RequirementsPhlebotomy certification or relevant licensure is preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting is a plus.Availability to work on Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm.Knowledge of OSHA and DEP safety and decontamination regulations.Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols accurately.Ensure your expertise and patient-focused approach make a difference in a busy healthcare environment.
