Behavior Technician

Position Overview Behavior Technicians implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs with CARD patients and families under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor. Treatment plans address skill acquisition and challenging behavior reduction across settings including the CARD center, patient’s home, school, community, or via telehealth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct treatment to patients in 1:1 or group settings Deliver treatment that exceeds CARD’s clinical quality standards Collect and record data on patient progress accurately Implement Clinical Supervisor feedback during each session Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues Maintain a safe, supportive environment Seek personal growth and training opportunities for clinical excellence Maintain accurate and timely records and comply with HIPAA Represent CARD professionally and ethically to stakeholders Adhere to CARD policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Successful completion of CARD Behavior Technician Training program, including written exam and field evaluation Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Empathetic and compassionate, maintaining strict confidentiality Collaborative with team members while maintaining a positive attitude Independent, providing direct treatment Effective verbal and written communicator Excellent time management in fast‑paced, changing environment Desire to continuously learn and develop skillsets Willing to work in various locations (center, home, etc.) Willing to work with a variety of patients Reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance for some locations Commit to at least six months of employment without major changes English proficiency, verbal and written Work Environment and Physical Requirements Behavior Technicians may work in diverse settings including patient home, CARD center, school, community, and telehealth. Duties include frequent movement, bending, kneeling, and potentially lifting up to 30 lbs. Must be able to respond to patient behaviors, maintain visual tracking, and assist with speech modeling and motor skill instruction. Outdoor work may involve variable weather conditions.
