Lab Technician

PURPOSE AND SCOPE Conduct routine laboratory tests in support of manufacturing operations. Analyze and record test data to monitor and maintain conformity to specifications. Perform duties in alignment with Test Methods (TM), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control. Perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods/procedures. Ensure precision, accuracy, and quality of work product. Document results of tests and analyses. Maintain laboratory equipment through daily cleaning and preventive maintenance. Keep the work environment clean and maintain general housekeeping of the area and plant. Apply general job knowledge to semi‑routine assignments and recognize when deviation from accepted practice is needed. Communicate with departmental contacts and, when necessary, with individuals outside the organization to obtain or provide information. Escalate issues to supervisor for resolution as required. Follow all Fresenius Policies, including attendance requirements and compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, and regulations. Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor. Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include focus on one or more departments or locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear, taste or smell. Personal protective equipment may include safety glasses. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles is frequent. Noise level is usually moderate. EDUCATION High School Diploma required. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS 1–2 years of related experience. Ability to interpret technical data for analytical instrumentation and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Analytical skills: basic algebra, geometry, linear regression, statistical deduction. Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software. Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret technical instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
