The Shipping and Receiving Lead for the 2nd shift plays a crucial role in managing large teams to ensure smooth logistics and warehouse operations. This leadership position requires overseeing the receipt and dispatch of goods while maintaining high standards of quality control, safety compliance, and accurate documentation. The lead works closely with multiple departments and utilizes various software tools to optimize inventory management and warehouse efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

• Supervise a large team of 16+ employees during the 2nd shift
• Conduct receiving inspections to ensure accuracy and quality of incoming shipments
• Manage inventory using Warehouse Management Systems and other logistics software
• Enforce quality control and safety compliance throughout shipping and receiving processes
• Maintain thorough and accurate shipment documentation
• Provide training and development for warehouse staff to ensure operational excellence
• Collaborate extensively with multiple departments to coordinate logistics efforts
• Work periodic overtime and weekends as required to meet operational demands

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations
• Proficiency with Inventory Management Systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Forklift operation skills
• Experience managing shipment documentation
• Strong team leadership and time management abilities
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures
