Director, Indirect Sourcing

This job description outlines the role, responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations for the position of Director, Indirect Sourcing. Responsibilities Business Partnership: Develop and manage key Sourcing, Contract and Business stakeholder relationships; collaborate with business stakeholders to implement strategic sourcing and category strategies that consolidate the supplier base and services, while aiming for the lowest total cost of ownership and access to high levels of supply, service, and quality. Conduct financial and spend analysis and support business case development to enable tactical roll-out of approved sourcing plans and events; optimize working capital, costs, price, PPV, deflation and service. Lead and collaborate with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and FP&A to develop spend budgets, assess budget impact, and forecast spend for assigned categories, programs, and contracts. Participate in global and unit leadership forums to drive sourcing strategy and improvement plans in partnership with operating units. Leadership / Business Function Support Direct and support sourcing team engagement: with business function partners on sourcing and procurement policies, procedures, and processes through stakeholder management and defined training programs. Implement system platforms and business solutions to enhance sourcing performance and service delivery. Lead cost-saving, reduction initiatives and controls for assigned categories while ensuring continuous timely supply to meet delivery expectations. Introduce new ideas for sourcing and procurement of materials, goods, and services. Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Supplier Performance Management (SPM) using KPIs and supplier scorecards; oversee contract compliance for assigned partners. Lead recruitment, retention, and competency-based performance management across sourcing teams. Additional Responsibilities Sourcing, Contracting and Business Performance Management: Lead implementation of sourcing initiatives for assigned categories and broader procurement operations (e.g., MvB, EOI, RFx). Review and evaluate sourcing proposals and business cases; enable and support business sourcing requirements and tactically deploy plans. Lead and support contract negotiations with emphasis on financial terms, risk management, compliance, and business continuity. Lead strategic sourcing activities including RFx development, supplier identification, selection, and contracting in collaboration with relevant teams. Support partners to enforce compliance to contract frameworks by managing supplier performance and governance. Follow market trends and perform category benchmarking to optimize supply network performance and value delivery. Education Bachelor's Degree in Science, Business, Procurement or Supply Chain or equivalent experience required Master's Degree or MBA preferred Work Experience 10+ years of experience in a global multi-national GMP sourcing and manufacturing environment, with leadership experience Additional Requirements Expert sourcing, procurement and contract knowledge in GMP Pharma and Medical Device across Direct and Indirect categories Expert category management experience with demonstrated contract negotiation and supplier performance management Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing events and cross-functional project delivery Project management experience supporting cross-functional teams Ability to work in a team or independently to meet deadlines; adaptable to a multicultural environment Experience coordinating with globally dispersed teams Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Familiarity with standard operating procedures related to the position Support Lean Sigma programs and contribute to target delivery Compliance with safety and quality policies Broad supplier and contract management experience Ability to work with senior leadership at manufacturing sites and global headquarters Strong influencing, change management, and negotiation skills Effective presentation and communication skills; ability to engage and challenge senior leadership Openness to new initiatives, fast learner, proactive Track record of building high-performing teams and working relationships Results-oriented with strong analytical capabilities Self-starter and independent worker Travel Requirements Up to 30% travel: Up to 78 business days per year Physical Requirements Sedentary role with occasional handling of light objects; seated for most of the workday.
