EHS Manager

General Description This position is responsible for EHS oversight to ensure the department complies with relevant laws and regulations regarding safety, health, and environmental protection. The role includes implementation of projects, schedules, contracts, and compliance programs to ensure the NYC sites (Astoria, Gowanus, and Narrows) are in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and corporate policies, goals, targets, and programs. Responsibilities Manage the EHS department Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including USEPA, USCG, NYSDEC, OSHA, NYC DEP, and FDNY Undertake activities to verify and improve environmental and safety compliance Prepare regulatory filings, reports, and submittals Manage capital and O&M projects Interface directly with all federal, state, and local regulatory entities Work with members of other internal teams and external parties on ongoing matters and projects as needed Perform emergency response activities as required, including oil/chemical spill response Oversee site safety program Education A four‑year engineering degree and demonstrated experience in project management, environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and safety program management are required. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is also required. The candidate must have knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, such as CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, and OPA90, and possess good project management and communication skills.
