Senior Accountant – Tax & General Accounting

• Downtown Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
• $80,000–$100,000 + Bonus

We are partnering with an established family office in downtown Chicago seeking a Senior Accountant with a strong tax background who is also comfortable assisting with general accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, LLCs, and other entities.
• Support tax compliance, including preparation of supporting schedules, workpapers, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on outsourced tax filings and related matters.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting across multiple entities.
• Review accounting records for accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members on various accounting, tax, and ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in tax preparation and compliance, particularly with partnerships and pass-through entities.
• General accounting experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Background in public accounting, family office, or private client services preferred.
• Comfortable working in a small-team environment and handling a variety of responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
