As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will work alongside experts to provide preventive care, leveraging your veterinary knowledge, communication skills, and passion for pets. This role offers a clear career path with continued growth and learning. Responsibilities Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services, Optimum Wellness Plans, and preventive care. Manage routing of clients and pets to ensure superior care and maximum productivity. Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times, welcoming clients, educating them, and preparing procedures. Perform veterinary technician appointments under the direction of a supervising veterinarian and in compliance with state law. Assist incoming clients with documentation, data entry, and pet identification. Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments. Manage finances, maintaining accurate balances and proper opening/closing procedures. Act as the extra eyes, ears, and hands for the veterinarian, communicating with associates to maintain patient flow. Obtain relevant information and maintain complete medical charts. Ensure safety of pets, clients, and associates by using safe restraining techniques and maintaining clean, sterile treatment areas. Assist with surgery as applicable. Train and mentor new paraprofessional associates. Quality‑check medical records, medications, regulatory documentation, hospital cleanliness, and timeliness of care. Utilize technical skills within state practice acts, performing administrative functions as needed. Leadership Responsibilities Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive team and achieving practice priorities. Assist with selection, training, and supervision of the paraprofessional team. Help create an environment delivering quality, efficient veterinary care. Provide effective communication among associates, clients, hospital leadership, and Central Team Support. Ensure all associates adhere to dress and grooming guidelines. Prepare team on cases scheduled for the day and assist with case transfers. Identify bottlenecks and formulate solutions to remove barriers in medical operations. Confer with field leadership on client resolution decisions and invoice adjustments. Address equipment issues and assist with inventory management. Qualifications Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
