Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams. Job Summary: In This role will work within the Frontend Web and Experience team and will be primarily responsible for building out various tools to empower workflows and reporting on the digital supply chain. Responsibilities: Creating and maintaining shared JavaScript libraries and UI components. Implementing business logic of various tool workflows. Reviewing others JavaScript and TypeScript code. Acting as a tech leader for various projects and initiatives. Employ test driven development and agile development practices. Basic Qualifications: Extensive experience in frontend web development technologies and principles Extensive experience with JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating, specifically React JS. Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack, Rollup) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass) Experience with cloud based software solutions and cloud native technologies such as Amazon ECS/EC2, Fargate, CloudFront. Experience with TypeScript, Lua, Python, shell scripting, Go, or other multi-platform and full stack programming languages Ability to research, learn, assess, and evangelize new technologies Strong communication skills and attention to detail Additional desired qualifications Previous work experience in media distribution Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling Experience with React Native Experience with Mobile and/or OTT device app development Education: BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent. Experience: Minimum 5 experience years in web development or software engineering The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
