Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.We are seeking an experienced and driven Resident Engineer to support the delivery of the Brent Spence Bridge Companion Bridge project—one of the most critical infrastructure undertakings in the nation. This iconic project will improve safety, capacity, and connectivity across the Ohio River, linking Kentucky and Ohio with a modernized, high-capacity corridor. In this key role, you will work closely with our Resident Engineer and project stakeholders to oversee daily construction activities, ensure contract compliance, and help manage quality, schedule, and coordination on one of the most high-profile transportation projects in the region. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant effort that will shape the future of regional mobility. HDR's role is to work alongside ODOT/KYTC and our consultant partners and will provide contract administration, construction oversight, inspection, quality control and quality assurance for the KY approach on the project.In the role of Resident Engineer, we'll count on you to:Provide engineering expertise and management oversight for the development and construction of various quality construction projectsPrepare project budgets and schedulesTake responsibility for personnel matters, workload management, monitoring consultant service contracts and establishing optimum engineering practices to serve the client's project delivery effortsPlan, prepare and analyze documents, and manage construction contractsForecast and track fiscal budget and cash flow for total workforce, facilities, vehicles, equipment and other resources necessary to deliver the assigned highway construction projectsAssist various crafts, disciplines and subcontractors in executing their respective workCoordinate and manage project quality assurance and control, and inspection servicesCoordinate and manage survey and layout work in the fieldPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:Road and Bridge construction experience highly desiredODOT or KYTC experienceIndustry certificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field10 years related experience in various aspects of construction including estimating, bidding, preparing purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, and field engineeringRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration softwareExperience developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programsMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe HDR is our company.
