Part-time Early Childhood Therapist | Eden Prairie

Description As an Early Childhood Therapist, you will provide in-home, early childhood mental health assessment, treatment, screening, and community-based/on-site consultation services to children ages birth to five and their families attending Eden Prairie's early childhood programming. Utilize the Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) model to affect change within the child-parent relationship. The focus is on the emotional quality of the child-parent relationship with simultaneous attention to the individual contributions that each partner makes to the interaction. Provide both direct billable assessment and treatment services and non-billable screening, referral, care coordination and consultation. Participate in required trainings and professional development activities related to early childhood mental health including cultural competency training, and the DC:0-5 assessment training. This is a part time position and will work a .5 schedule

- Conduct DC 0-5 diagnostics assessments
- Develop and implement a treatment plan with the family based on the diagnosis
- Implement Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to strengthen the parent-child attachment relationship; address traumatic events/triggers; locate protective factors; promote hope; provide developmental guidance and provide emotional support
- Care coordination, including collaboration with psychiatrists and other professionals working with the child and meeting regularly with co-group facilitators to share information regarding clients
- Create a discharge plan
- Clinicians may be asked to assist in the group therapy sessions for children in the program as needed.
- Each clinician on the Family Focused Therapy team will be required to maintain monthly services consistent with budgeted client service expectations, on average 6 sessions per week.
- Diagnostics assessments
- Treatment plans for each client
- Daily progress notes
- Record keeping of all clinical activities and grant related services
- Outcome instruments and assessment tools, including but not limited to the DC 0-5 assessment, Preschool SDQ, and ECSII
- Discharge summaries
- Satisfaction surveys
- Timely response of communications from the program director, the supervisor, or program support to ensure clear communication throughout the program
- Maintain current, timely authorizations for all therapeutic services form Medical Assistance, commercial insurance, or Hennepin County
- Ancillary services - specifically tracking school hour services and after school hour services.
- Attend weekly supervision and case consultation, present case information and formulation, and identify questions for consultation and supervision
- Receive training in CPP as needed
- Maintain required CEUs
- Ability to work a part-time (.5) schedule
- Master's degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work (Required)
- Doctoral Degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work (Desired)
- A minimum of 3-5 years assessing, diagnosing and treating children and families (Required)
- Fully licensed or close to licensure in LICSW, LMFT, LPCC or LP (Required)
- Valid MN Licensure as a Mental Health Professional (Required)
- Training in CPP (Desired)
- Training in DC 0-5 Diagnostic Assessments (Required)
