OVERVIEW: The Server Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall Country Club dining experience for our members and guests by providing essential support to the serving staff and ensuring that the restaurant operates smoothly. This position requires a proactive individual who is detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support Server Staff: o Assist servers in delivering food and beverages to guests in a timely manner. o Help with setting and clearing tables to maintain an orderly dining environment. o Refill beverages and provide additional utensils as needed. 2. Maintain Cleanliness: o Ensure cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and floors. o Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas for different meal periods or events. o Keep service stations stocked with necessary supplies (napkins, silverware, condiments, etc.). 3. Guest Interaction: o Greet members and guests with a friendly demeanor and assist them with any inquiries. o Provide menus and explain daily specials or promotions as necessary. o Actively listen to guest feedback and communicate any concerns to the server or management. 4. Collaborate with Team: o Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and efficiently. o Communicate effectively with servers, management, and kitchen personnel to coordinate service efforts. 5. Adhere to Health and Safety Standards: o Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation policies. o Report any maintenance or cleanliness issues to management promptly. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING: • Less than high school education; and up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred, but not required. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations. • Must be a team player, dedicated to providing excellent customer service. • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
