Introduction Our client is a hospital hiring an Emergency Veterinarian for either a full-time or part-time opportunity working with small animals. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing emergency and critical care practice that provides 24/7 emergency services to the Northwest Arkansas community. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality emergency and critical care medicine. Role Description and Responsibilities The Emergency Veterinarian will provide emergency and critical care services including emergency surgery, intensive care hospitalization, oxygen therapy, toxicity treatment, transfusions, and advanced emergency procedures. Responsibilities include managing high-acuity cases, performing diagnostics and surgical procedures, communicating effectively with clients and referring veterinarians, and collaborating closely with the emergency support team. The role requires a compassionate and skilled veterinarian who can multitask effectively, remain calm under pressure, and work a flexible schedule including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Candidates should be proficient in general medicine and surgery with strong communication and teamwork skills. Practice Details This emergency and specialty hospital is the only after-hours emergency facility serving the Northwest Arkansas area and maintains strong relationships with a large network of referring veterinarians. The hospital is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house Idexx laboratories, large touch screen monitors in exam rooms, and a ForceTriad electrosurgical system. Services include emergency and critical care, emergency surgery, blood and plasma transfusions, oxygen therapy, toxicity treatment, snake bite treatment, end-of-life care, on-site diagnostics, intensive care hospitalization, and advanced emergency procedures. The emergency department is staffed by veterinarians and support staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuous care for urgent and critical cases.
