About the Role:

A leading advanced manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Specialist, Manufacturing Engineering to join its engineering team in Simi Valley, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with manufacturing experience to develop and improve manufacturing processes, support new product introductions, and contribute to the production of advanced defense and aerospace-related systems.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop production strategies, improve operational efficiency, evaluate manufacturing costs, and implement tooling and process improvements. This role offers opportunities to manage projects, contribute to process innovation, and support mission-critical manufacturing operations.

This is a full-time, 100% on-site position with a 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to work 80 hours over nine workdays and have every other Friday off.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate manufacturing engineering plans, projects, and processes.
• Create and improve manufacturing strategies for specific products and production operations.
• Develop and implement manufacturing tools, systems, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering project teams to coordinate the release and introduction of new products.
• Evaluate manufacturing requirements and recommend appropriate tooling, equipment, and process improvements.
• Estimate, monitor, and analyze manufacturing costs.
• Establish production time standards and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Review engineering drawings and blueprints to support manufacturing processes.
• Maintain accurate manufacturing records, reports, and operational documentation.
• Coordinate manufacturing activities to support project schedules, quality standards, and production targets.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend practical solutions to improve productivity and effectiveness.
• Communicate manufacturing processes, procedures, and technical requirements to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to colleagues when required.
• Manage assigned projects and processes while ensuring timely completion of operational objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Candidates without a degree must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• An engineering degree is preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical knowledge of project management and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and review engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage assigned projects with general supervision.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required for the position.
• U.S. citizenship is required because the role may require a security clearance.
