Operations Supervisor Location: USA - Aurora, 25000 E 56th Ave Division: Solutions Time Type: Full Time Shift: 2b shift 5pm-8:30pm (Wednesday to Saturday) POSITION SUMMARY The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement. Inform senior management and client representatives of critical issues that affect the operations. Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies and client agreements. Implement and report ongoing cost‑saving measures and provide ideas for more efficient operations. Meet all client‑specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to fairly supervise, counsel, and discipline team members. Assist in hiring, training, and professional development and participate in performance evaluation for promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities. Have overall training and evaluation responsibilities for warehouse staff. Plan daily work schedule by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions, and assign duties to appropriate staff. Review pending jobs or trends to plan for reorganization of warehouse space and adjustments in supplies, equipment, or staffing. Train new staff or delegate training responsibilities and assess progress. Maintain guidance and advice on quantity and quality of jobs performed during the day. Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower‑level staff. Report progress to Manager and hold regular meetings to assess status and discuss improvement ideas. Assist in physical operations as needed. Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time. Maintain high motivation and focus on customer satisfaction. Provide growth and development opportunities and conduct annual performance reviews. Support adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). QUALIFICATIONS High‑school diploma or GED. 3 years’ experience in a logistics/distribution or related environment. 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation. Forklift training program completion. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), RF scanners, and WMS functions. English reading, writing, and verbal skills; business communication. Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and inventory. Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, leadership, supervision, planning skills; ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends. Adaptability to change and thriving in fast‑paced environment; willing to work overtime and in varying temperatures. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually low to moderate. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Expected base pay range: $70,080.00 – $91,320.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
