Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum via travel assignments in a hospital setting. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients while adhering to clinical policies and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' condition and monitor fetal and maternal well-being during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications, including magnesium drip and other labor-related treatments.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and update care plans.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR system and participate in shift handovers.
• Assist in performing procedures such as C-sections, Pitocin administration, and Cerclage placement.
• Precept and mentor new staff members and students as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current acute care hospital L&D nursing experience of at least 1 year.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Current and active RN license.
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient engagement skills.
• Willingness to precept and train staff on unit procedures.
