Job Title:  Material Handler

Location: Chicopee, MA

Pay: $18.00/hr

Shift: 2nd | 3:30pm-1:00am

Job Description:
The Material Handler supports daily warehouse and production operations by safely moving, organizing, and preparing materials used in the manufacturing of construction components. This role ensures accurate inventory handling, proper storage, and timely delivery of materials to production areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move materials manually or using pallet jacks, carts, or other equipment

• Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely

• Accurately count, track, and record inventory for incoming and outgoing materials

• Pick and stage materials based on work orders or pick lists

• Inspect materials for quality and verify they match documentation

• Label, wrap, band, and package products to prevent damage during transport

• Support production teams by delivering materials as needed

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse best practices

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand work orders, labels, and pick lists

• Basic math and counting skills for inventory tracking

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the shift

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment

• Experience in warehouse or material handling preferred, but not required

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/warehouse setting supporting building materials production (wood and structural components) 

• Regular standing, walking, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift
