Laborer NA-04

U.S. Army MWR

Summary Position located at Outdoor Recreation Adventure Park – Fort Riley, Kansas. Responsible for supporting family activities and services; social, fitness and recreational activities that enhance community life, foster Soldier and unit readiness, and promote mental and physical fitness and wellness programs that directly support readiness and resiliency. Duties Operate large, complex riding lawn mowers and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention to space and environment. Perform tasks that require significant manual skill, heavy physical effort, and detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground for sod, flowers and shrubs) following specifications on project requirements. Select the most appropriate type of equipment to accomplish the work, following safety practices, obtaining assistance, and performing routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment. Work indoors and outdoors, possibly exposed to adverse weather conditions, drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Direct deposit and Social Security Card are required. Meet all qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position. One year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2, including a Tier 1 background investigation. Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must have a valid Driver’s license. Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical exam. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages or less. Demonstrated work experience that includes the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties listed above. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating a chainsaw. Education No education qualification required. Compensation and Benefits Payment for Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized. Incentives will not be paid. This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. Employees may earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week, whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full‑time, regular part‑time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays and additional pay if the majority of scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Regular full‑time and part‑time employees are eligible for health and life insurance, 401(k) and retirement plans, and paid personal time off. Flexible employees may be eligible to participate in the NAF 401(k) plan and receive health insurance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
