Job Title: Registered Dietician
Location: Morningstar Residential Care Center – Oswego, New York
Pay: Up to
Schedule: Full Time

Summary:

Consults and advises under the supervision of the Administrator to ensure all residents are being fed with proper quality and quantity of food and fluids. The Registered Dietician (RD) will develop care plans for all residents and renew and update as necessary. The Registered Dietician will monitor the duties performed by the Dining Services Manager (DSM) and recommend changes as necessary

Responsibilities:

• Perform nutritional assessments on all new residents

• Perform nutritional assessments on all residents with significant changes

• Ensures MDS+ assessment are completed following the RAI manual

• Ensures accurate, legible, timely documentation in medical records

• Conducts meal rounds

• Perform food intake studies as needed (weight loss, low albumin, poor intake, etc.)

• Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.

• Meets current documentation standards and policies.

• Recommend changes to the Dining Services Manager

• Reviews intake records

• Review monthly weights, makes recommendations for desired frequence of weights

• Reviews of pertinent laboratory results

• Reviews all tube feeding orders to ensure proper nutrition.

• Development and ensure proper follow-through with policies and procedures.

• Supervises other members of the healthcare team as needed to accomplish the plan of care which has been developed.

• Demonstrates competence in technical and manual skills according to scope of practice for Dietician

• Functions as a resident advocate by protecting the resident’s rights.

• Demonstrates creativity in solving problems and looking at situations in new and innovative ways.

• Interact with residents, families, co-workers, managers and other departmental staff in a kind, knowledgeable and friendly manner.

Qualifications:

• Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.

• Completes annual education requirements.

• Maintains regulatory requirements.

• Always maintains resident confidentiality.

• Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.

• Completes in services and returns in a timely fashion.

• Attends annual review and department in services, as scheduled.

• Attend staff meetings - read and return all staff meeting minutes.

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Currently Registered as Dietician in New York State
