\nThe Weitz Company's Denver, CO-based Rocky Mountain business unit is currently seeking a Field Engineer to be located onsite in Telluride, Colorado, supporting one of the region's largest hospitality and resort projects to date. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on field experience while working alongside an experienced project team on a landmark development. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Telluride for the duration of the project\n

\nThe Field Engineer assists with the supervision of the field work performed on the assigned projects by The Weitz Company or its subcontractors. A Field Engineer typically reports directly to the Project Superintendent.\n

What You'll Do: \n
\n

\n
• Participate, as required, in the development of the project plan, moisture infiltration plan, risk mitigation plan, freeze review plan, etc. and ensure proper execution.
\n
• Make recommendations to the supervisor for design or other changes that will enhance the quality of the project, reduce operating and maintain costs, improve the scheduled completion, or decrease construction costs.
\n
• Assist Superintendent with equipment review and planning.
\n
• Assist superintendent with pre-construction meetings with appropriate subcontractors prior to their start in the field.
\n
• Maintain and protect all tools, equipment, and materials on the jobsite.
\n
• Assist superintendent with layout, as directed, that information is conveyed to involved parties.
\n
• Assist superintendent with site logistics and cleanup to present a professional image to the public.
\n
• Maintain accurate cost reporting.
\n
• Respond effectively to RFI's and coordinate response in field.
\n
• Assist the Project Superintendent, if requested, in developing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule. Document all delays and inform Project Superintendent.
\n
• Assist in monitoring the field performance for all aspects of the project, including subcontractors, employees, consultants, schedules, quality, and costs.
\n
• Maintain routine relations with owners' and architects' representatives. Major disputes or problems encountered are discussed with appropriate supervisor; assist with resolution.
\n
• Set up, organize, read, communicate, and update project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling software.
\n

• Education: \n
  \n
  • An industry-related college degree is required.
  \n
\n
• Experience: \n
  \n
  • A previous internship with a construction-related firm or a minimum of two years of project management construction experience.
  \n
\n
• Skills: \n
  \n
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  \n
  • Ability to balance and prioritize projects with impending deadlines.
  \n
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  \n
\n
• Technology: \n
  \n
  • Candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Apple products (iPhone & iPad) and have the ability to learn specific software.
  \n
  • Solid systems experience with Procore, JDE, and Asta is preferred.
  \n
  • Training will be provided on company standards.
  \n
