Senior Electrical Estimator

The Senior Estimator reports directly to the Regional Director. You’ll develop through hands‑on experience, peer collaboration, and ongoing technical training. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop cost estimates from take‑off stage to bid hand‑off, working closely with the Project Manager assigned to the project. Develop cost estimates for change orders, as needed. Analyze material, labor, equipment, and other requirements to complete a project. Attend pre‑bid and scope review meetings, as well as job walks when necessary. Prepare detailed scope letters. Read and thoroughly understand blueprints. Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers. Contact vendors and subcontractors for pricing. Coordinate and organize other estimators. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems. Ability to read and evaluate specifications and blueprints. Ability to deal effectively with customers. Ability to analyze risks involved with certain project types. Ability to estimate large and small projects. Ability to work calmly under deadlines and external pressure. Excellent math skills. Strong communication skills. Strong computer skills – specifically in Microsoft Suite Applications. Education Requirements 8–10 years of experience with a High School Diploma. 6–8 years of experience with an Associate degree. 2–4 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree. Preferred but Not Required Familiarity with ConEst Estimating Software. Hands‑on construction experience. Abilities Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. Have finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, e.g., using a keyboard. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Identify and understand the speech of another person.
