Major Duties

  • Serves as an Inventory Management (IM) Supervisor for DLA Energy; this is a supervisory position primarily responsible for providing direct and operational oversight of assigned Inventory Management team members at the site.
  • Ensures the proper resources and mechanisms are in place to support the development and ongoing maintenance of Inventory Management policies, business rules, system enhancements, and training, under direction from higher management authority.
  • Manages the analyses of Inventory Management process issues impacting their assigned areas and oversees team members in formulating recommendations, execute actions, and monitor results.
  • Escalates Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) process and system related issues to the Inventory Management Site Process Lead and/or Enterprise Process Integrator/Owner office.
  • Ensures close working relationships and coordinates actions with their counterparts and Process Management team members assigned to other EBS process areas and/sites, to transition business decisions.
  • Collaborates with members of the Partner Engagement and Supplier Operations organizations on items with an impact to end-users, partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Develops innovative responses and procedures to overcome process problems and to integrate the EBS enterprise approach to logistics systems and operations in process execution at their site.
  • Directs the design and execution of training on new ways of doing business; conducting outreach and education with stakeholders to achieve buy-in and explain impacts; and networking with other field activities to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Works within the Inventory Management community and across business processes both within the site and across the enterprise in directing the development of new or revised procedures and/or systems changes to meet identified requirements.
  • Ensures processes follow applicable laws/policies/regulations, well documented and regularly maintained (e.g., process system memorandum, functional system specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, and process related training).

Qualification Summary

To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Systems Analyst, GS- 2003-14, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Supply systems and automated data processing methods and techniques combined with a comprehensive knowledge of DoD and DLA policy and procedures related to supply processes, work methods, supply data management, and associated operating procedures impacting Inventory Management, to direct and monitor major aspects of the process for effectiveness and efficiency. Effectively applying analytical principles and techniques and knowledge of technical and administrative programs under the cognizance of the team in order to supervise operations, analyze trends or conditions affecting team activities, and provide comprehensive Agency support for assigned programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
