Data Center Facility Operations Manager

Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure, maintaining high availability, performance, and adherence to service level agreements. Manage on‑site teams of 24×7 shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring work is performed in accordance with established practices, procedures, and safety protocols. Drive a safety and security culture and compliance within the team. Hire, coach, develop and promote team members, providing career development and performance management. Promote healthy team culture and morale. Efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures. Engage in improvement projects, partnering with support teams to bring projects from conception to completion. Act as an escalation point for all facilities‑related issues, overseeing operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, monitoring systems, etc. Utilize root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem‑solving skills to resolve incidents. Respond to out‑of‑hours emergency calls. Provide support for one or more locations/sites. Assist in the build‑out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency. Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other basic administrative tools to perform daily tasks. Physical Requirements Participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds. Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder. Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push and pull objects into position. Work in an environment requiring ear protection. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of management experience with five or more direct reports. 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, evaporators, and other critical infrastructure OR 7+ years of technical (military/trade school) training and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications or a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline. 7+ years experience working in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with emphasis on building and equipment operation. Excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations (e.g., feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, CRAHU units). Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing or business justification experience. Benefits The base salary range for this position is US$129,200–193,000 annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units.
