Community Engagement & Event Coordinator

Job Title: Community Engagement & Event Coordinator Reports To: Director of Membership & Continuing Legal Education Hourly Rate: $25 per hour Position Overview: The Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA) is seeking a motivated and organized Community Engagement & Event Coordinator. The Community Engagement & Event Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of bar association events, member programs, and community engagement initiatives. Working closely with CBA staff, members, committees, speakers, vendors, and community partners, the Coordinator helps create engaging and meaningful experiences for the association’s members and the broader legal community and will serve as a welcoming and responsive point of contact for members and event participants. The ideal candidate is organized, enthusiastic, professional, and interested in building a career in event planning, nonprofit or association management. This position offers opportunities to develop skills in event management, communications, member relations, and community outreach. About us: We are a downtown non-profit professional organization serving thousands of attorneys in Greater Cincinnati. Our mission is to serve our members and educate the public. We provide educational training, professional development opportunities, and social events for our attorney members. Responsibilities: Event Planning & Coordination Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, networking events, educational programs, receptions, community programs, and other activities. Assist with outreach to law schools and community partners. Coordinate event logistics, including venues, catering, audiovisual needs, room setup, registration, materials, signage, and supplies for both virtual and hybrid events. Communicate with speakers, vendors, venues, volunteers, and participants regarding event details. Draft routine event announcements, invitations, reminders, and follow-up communications. Assist with preparing flyers, presentations, and promotional materials. Manage event registration, maintain online calendars and accurate attendance records. Prepare event materials, agendas, name badges, programs, and other supplies. Provide on-site support during events and assist with registration and guest needs. Collect event photos, feedback, attendance information, and other materials for use in communications and reporting. Help evaluate events and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain positive relationships with members and community stakeholders. Administrative & Operational Support Maintain organized event files, contact lists, registration records, and other documentation. Assist with tracking event expenses, invoices, sponsorship information, and payments. Enter and maintain information in membership, event registration in the CBA’s database Assist with preparing event reports, attendance summaries, and engagement metrics. Order and maintain event supplies and materials. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field Experience coordinating meetings, programs, or events. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with social media, email marketing, and Canva is helpful, but not required. Interest in the legal profession or nonprofit work is a plus. Physical & Work Requirements This position requires the ability to work in an office and event environments and communicate effectively and professionally by phone, email, and in person. This position will manage event logistics - including setup, registration, and guest support—which requires frequent activity and lifting supplies. The position is four days per week in the office and requires some evening and occasional weekend work (~4 days/year).
