Medical Cardiology opening - Somerset, PA Located in Southwest PA, 70m to PittsburghJ1/H1b Eligible Position details Full-time, permanent Hospital employee Department currently employees two full time cardiologists, two of which are non-invasive cardiology and one physician who is interventional cardiology. There are two physician assistants currently at the practice, one full-time and one part-time, with a third full-time position in process of being added due to volume increase. An EP also sees patients at the clinic one day per week and performs procedures The practice runs a pacemaker clinic once weekly Practice located across the street allowing for very easy access for going between the inpatient and outpatient settings. Non-invasive cardiologists rotate weekly between inpatient and outpatient services and are supplemented by the physician assistants. Hospital services consist of rounding/consults, TEE procedures, stress tests, echoes, and EKGs. Medical call is divided among the non-invasive cardiologists with some supplementation by locums for weekend coverage. Physician assistants provide some weekend rounding as well. The interventional cardiologist is well-known throughout the region for his exemplary care and has been with the practice since 2016. The medical cardiologists have both been with the practice since 2019. Both physician assistants have been with the practice for several years working under the guidance of the Cardiology physician team. The outpatient practice is currently using Epic as their EMR system. The hospital is currently using Paragon Allscripts, with a planned transition to Epic in the future Location Details Located in Somerset County, which is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. Home to three of the top ski resorts in the eastern U.S. The Great Allegheny Passage, which is part of the 334-mile rails-to-trails project connecting Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C., runs through Somerset County. There are numerous cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobile trails throughout the county, as well as a multitude of mountain bike trails. There are ample opportunities for whitewater rafting, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Somerset County is home to several golf courses, ranging from nine-hole community courses to PGA-rated resort courses. In addition to the outdoor scene, Somerset County also has numerous fairs and festivals that celebrate the culture of the area. There are several small theaters and playhouses in the region.
