Lifeguard

Job Summary Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe area for aquatic activity during hours that require a lifeguard on duty. Entity and Location Owensboro Health Medical Group – Aquatics Healthpark, PRN. Job Responsibilities Prevent incidents and respond to emergencies in the aquatic area. Enforce facility and pool rules. Assist with keeping the aquatic area clean and safe during each shift. Maintain supplies and report any issues regarding equipment functionality or availability to the fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics. Complete incident reports for any incidents that occur and notify the fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics. Skills and Attributes Critical thinking and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision and can handle a stressful environment. Ability to take appropriate action when required. Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred. No work experience required. Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross, Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), or Ellis and Associates required upon hire.
