EHS Specialist

Interested in a career that matters? EHS Specialist Join us as an EHS Specialist ! You will play a key role in maintaining and advancing our occupational health, safety, and environmental programs. You will help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a proactive safety culture across the organization. Key responsibilities include: Support the development and implementation of safety policies in alignment with OSHA regulations Deliver safety and environmental training programs required by law and company standards Lead incident investigations and manage reporting within the EHSQ system Maintain and support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems Conduct audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks Partner with cross-functional teams to implement Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety improvements Support sustainability initiatives, recycling programs, and environmental compliance efforts Participate in capital projects and contribute to safety-focused improvements Collaborate with global and regional EHS teams to ensure alignment with broader initiatives What You'll Need to Be Successful Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or a related technical field 3-5 years of industrial safety experience Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 and 1926 regulations Experience with safety management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) Ability to manage confidential information appropriately (HIPAA awareness) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines Key competencies Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills Proactive problem-solving mindset Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels Adaptability in a fast-paced environment Additional Skills & Interests We Value Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, ARM, or similar OSHA 10, 30, or 501 certifications Experience in a manufacturing environment (food-grade experience preferred) Familiarity with ISO 50001 or other energy/environmental standards Knowledge of industrial hygiene practices and ergonomics What We Offer A meaningful role where you contribute to safety, sustainability, and employee wellbeing Opportunities for professional growth and development within a global organization A collaborative and inclusive work environment Exposure to cross-functional and global projects The chance to shape and strengthen safety culture across multiple sites Ways of Working / Working Conditions Primarily office-based with regular time spent in production facilities Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, and hair/beard covering Occasional exposure to cold environments (up to -55C) Physical activities may include lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and crouching Ability to travel up to 10% for regional or global EHS meetings Valid driver's license required Compensation & Benefits Expected pay range: $84,761-$116,546 Benefits: 401(k) with up to a 9% company contribution Minimum of 3 weeks vacation plus 12 holidays and 2 weeks of wellness time Health, dental, vision, and life insurance Healthcare savings account with generous employer contribution Employee assistance program Parental leave Tuition reimbursement Benefits effective from day one Relevant Information Application deadline: July 30, 2026 Location: Madison, Wisconsin Opportunities for everyone We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process and equal opportunity for all applicants.
