Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients on a 23-bed inpatient behavioral health unit with patient ratios of 5-8
- Respond to behavioral health emergencies including aggressive patients, rapid response situations, and Code Blue events
- Perform clinical procedures including blood draws, IV placement, wound care, and vital sign monitoring using unit equipment such as glucometers, bladder scanners, and oxygen delivery systems
- Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
- Manage high volumes of admissions and discharges, with up to 10 per day on a fast-paced unit
- Float to other inpatient adult units and geriatric unit as needed
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- Demonstrated ability to manage aggressive patients with strong critical thinking, patience, and compassion
- Strong time management skills with the ability to perform effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments
- Prior behavioral health nursing experience
- Experience working with diverse behavioral health populations including adult, adolescent, geriatric, and pediatric patients
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR

- Gain experience in a dynamic psychiatric environment supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team
