Job Title : Chess Instructor (After-school Program) Location : Palo Alto, CA Type : Part-Time | In-Person Pay : $27.00–$29.00 per hour + mileage reimbursement About Yes For Chess Yes For Chess is a growing after-school enrichment program serving elementary schools across the Bay Area. We are known for being organized, supportive, and for promoting strong instructors into larger roles as we grow. The Opportunity We are hiring one strong, reliable instructor who lives in or very near Palo Alto to support a key region of our program. Wants consistent part-time work now Is open to more hours and responsibility over time Enjoys working with kids Is comfortable driving locally between nearby schools This role is intentionally designed to grow into a larger, more stable position for the right person. Location Focus We are specifically looking for candidates who live in: Palo Alto Menlo Park East Palo Alto Redwood City (or very nearby) Primary teaching locations Palo Alto Sunnyvale Santa Clara Occasional coverage may include San Bruno San Francisco San Jose This is a local, driving-based role , so proximity and reliability matter. Schedule Up to 4 afternoons per week to start Typical hours: 90 minutes (2:30 PM onwards) Designed to grow into more hours over time This role is a strong fit for: College graduates Graduate students Educators Professionals looking for meaningful, structured part-time work Why This Role Is Different This is not a short-term gig.
