Health Information Technician

Job Title: Health Information Technician Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM ( Flexible 8-hour shifts within these hours; no weekends or holidays ) Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and computer-literate Health Information Technician for a long-term assignment. This position will be in a correctional setting. This role involves managing, reviewing, and organizing medical records in compliance with federal and facility standards. Ideal candidates will be comfortable with a physically active environment and possess a strong understanding of health information management. Key Responsibilities: Review, catalog, and verify completeness of medical reports Organize reports and ensure all required documentation and signatures are present Prepare and maintain medical charts and complete relevant forms for new admissions Compile and type statistical reports (e.g., daily/monthly census, admissions/discharges, length of stay, Medicaid days) File, log, and retrieve health information records Respond to information requests in accordance with confidentiality regulations and internal procedures Coordinate with other departments regarding health information management Health Information Technician Requirements Experience in medical terminology, records management, and typing High School Diploma or GED Active CPR Certification, preferably BLS Card If you are interested in this Health Information Technician position, please send an up-to-date resume and BLS card to View email address on click.appcast.io Retrieve health information records in filing system Utilize computer systems to retrieve client information Retrieve medical information for third party liabilities Assist walk-in customers requesting medical information/medical records by ensuring that a complete and compliant release of information authorization be obtained Complete all incoming requests for medical records and other medical forms Complete all incoming requests for medical records and other medical forms Providing information as to required documentation Providing information as to required documentation Assist in the installation and maintenance of new information systems Protect the release of patient information; photocopies records Analyze the medical information included in the inquiry to determine benefits Associateapproved business terms with information assets Clarify or to obtain additional information Print information and faxes to appropriate destination Follow medical records policies and procedures Provide information from health information records after determining appropriateness of request Determining the appropriateness of the request Organizing medical records for subpoenas./li Complete all outgoing requests for medical records and other medical forms for all facility departments Complete all outgoing requests for medical records and other medical forms for all facility departments Providing information as to required documentation./liaa415a4b-8b21-40fc-a65c-70d2b25ca29a
